2018-present — Accounting/Admin Assistant at Spacek, Armstrong & Norrad.
- file preparation under the supervision of other accountants
- Used ProFile, CaseWare, Sage 50 Accounting and QuickBooks.
1989- 2010 — 9-1-1 operator/ emergency communications for the City of Fredericton.
- handled a variety of emergency calls that required advanced problem-solving skills, superior communication skills, and emotional maturity and discipline.
- often was the work leader for a team of 4 dispatchers.
- developed the mental survival skills needed to work in a fast-paced, unpredictable work environment.
- developed a one-week long classroom training course for newly hired dispatchers
- served as an on-the-job trainer for several new hires.
My current volunteer activities:

- I’m currently the Treasurer for the Fredericton Homeless Shelters Inc until December 2019.
- former Board Secretary for the Urban Teaching Farm Project Steering committee, 577 Hillside Dr, Fredericton.
- Volunteer peer tutor for Business Writing, Microeconomics and Financial Accounting at NBCC. In all cases, I was recruited for this position by the class instructors.
- Teacher — Adult cooking classes for Our Greener Village Community Food Centre (the Food Bank). Classes in 2017 included “How to Use a Pressure Cooker” and “Cooking with Cabbage”. Classes are designed to help people think about “budget cuisine” — hearty, nutritious, tasty meals that utilize cheaper ingredients.
